Open Ended Buffalo Black Watch Strap
The Open Ended Buffalo in black is a smart, easy choice for bringing an old fixed-bar watch back into daily wear.
It's made for older watches with fixed bars, where an ordinary strap won't go on. Each end has a sprung metal insert hidden in the leather, so you just open it up, clip it round the bar and it closes neatly, with no glue or sewing needed. The leather is buffalo-grained, with a soft sheen and stitched edges, and from 10mm up it narrows by 2mm towards the buckle.
It comes with a choice of gold or silver nickel-free buckle. Available in black and brown; this one comes in 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 16mm, 18mm and 20mm.

- 8mm: 170mm long (65 + 105mm), same width at the buckle
- 10mm: 170mm long (65 + 105mm), 8mm at the buckle
- 12mm: 170mm long (65 + 105mm), 10mm at the buckle
- 14mm: 170mm long (65 + 105mm), 12mm at the buckle
- 16mm: 190mm long (75 + 115mm), 14mm at the buckle
- 18mm: 190mm long (75 + 115mm), 16mm at the buckle
- 20mm: 190mm long (75 + 115mm), 18mm at the buckle
What the measurements mean
- Width: fits between your watch's lugs, so match it to your lug width (a on the diagram).
- Length: both pieces added together. In brackets, the first figure is the buckle end (c) and the second is the hole end (d).
- Buckle width: the strap narrows towards the buckle, so this is its width at that end (b).
- Fitting: the ends open up and clip over your watch's fixed bars, so no spring bars are needed.
I searched the internet for ages for the right open ended strap before finding this strap. The strap is very well priced and delivery was very quick. The way the strap attaches to the watch with a folded clip between the leather makes it so easy to attach on a fixed bar case and it very handy for someone like me who likes to change straps frequently. The strap is very comfy and looks great as does the buckle. If you have a small, vintage watch and a large wrist, get the longest strap you can do as this just fits my wrist nicely at 6.5in but would struggle in anything larger. Overall, a fantastic strap for the money and well worth getting.
Ordered two watch straps. One for a fixed lug army watch, and the open ended straps don’t have metal wings to secure them in place like others I’ve used. However, it seems secure. Nice quality leather.
Widths are accurate so order slightly smaller if in doubt. I ordered 16 mm for a watch lugs just under 16 mm and had to squeeze it in.
Delivered by Royal Mail and took 4 days from order.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?
All orders placed before 2 PM from Monday to Friday are dispatched on the same day whether UK or International. Unfortunately some elements of delivery are outside of our control but we will provide tracking details upon dispatch.
UK Orders
All UK orders are sent via Royal Mail 1st Class with tracking. This means 99% of orders are delivered the next working day. If you don't receive your delivery you can track the status within our website.
European Orders
Will take 5-7 business days to arrive.
International Orders
Take anywhere from 7-16 days to arrive.
We work very hard making sure all orders are dispatched the very same day and if for any reason you don't receive your order or have worries about delivery please get in touch as we'll investigate and resolve any issues.
Will I need to wait in for my order?
No. We think time is precious so we've made sure that our packing is letter box friendly, meaning that your watch strap order will be delivered without issue. Additionally our order tracking doesn't require a signiture as this is done through GPS location.
What happens if I order the wrong size?
Let's be honest we've all been there! Our returns policy is very straightforward you have 30 days to return the item with no questions asked (providing it's in the same new/pristine condition).
You can arrange a return online through our website which will allow you to request either a replacement or refund. You can find our more about our refund policy here.
Are you a genuine UK company?
Yes. We are a UK Limited Company and also VAT registered. All our watch straps include VAT.

Yes! If our watch straps are listed as leather then we guarantee that the strap is genuine leather.
Do you offer a warranty on your straps?
We don't unfortunately. However we are realistic, if your watch strap has failed through general wear and use we'll simply replace the strap.
