About 17mm watch straps

Odd widths like 17mm are harder to find, so we keep a small range of the essentials: calf leather in black, brown, tan and white, stitched buffalo grain in black and brown, and a genuine crocodile strap in black for a dress watch.

Not sure 17mm is right? Measure between the lugs where the strap attaches. Our guide to measuring a watch strap shows you how. Between sizes? Have a look at 16mm or 18mm, where you'll find a much wider choice.

17mm Watch Strap Questions

What watches take a 17mm strap?

Some vintage and smaller men's watches, usually with cases around 34–36mm. Case size is only a rough guide, though, so it's always worth measuring the lug width.

Can I fit a 16mm or 18mm strap on a 17mm watch?

It's best not to. A strap that's too wide won't fit between the lugs, and one that's too narrow leaves a gap and lets the watch move about. It's worth sticking to 17mm, and if you can't find a style you like, get in touch and we'll help.

Will a 17mm strap fit my 17mm lugs?

Yes. The width is measured where the strap meets the watch, so a 17mm strap fits a 17mm gap between the lugs. Most straps narrow towards the buckle, and each strap's size guide shows its width at the buckle.

Do your straps come with spring bars?

Yes, every strap comes with spring bars. Quick-release straps have quick-release spring bars fitted, so you can swap them without a tool.
